Clayhenge

OK, so technically this isn’t a henge, because it’s not an entire circle, just one set of standing stones. But who knows, maybe I’ll make enough to make a whole circle!

This was really fun to create and paint. It stands about 5″ tall and took about 8 hours in total. The base and stone interiors are tinfoil, the outside is polymer clay (Super Sculpey, to be exact). It was painted with acrylic paints in many, many layers while I chased the stone texture.

I really love how this turned out, and as someone with a lifelong love of all things ancient, spiritual, mystical, mythological and occult, it certainly won’t be the last thing like this I make!
