More work on the new painting

This morning I did some more work on the nude, defining the forms more and raising the value of the lights (ie: making them brighter).

I then propped it up where I could see it while having lunch and watching the Canadian Grand Prix :)  I decided that I was still not being bold enough with the lights, so I've gone into it again and made them a higher value still.  I've also cleaned up a couple of shapes I thought were wrong and outlined the hair and some other details more.  I think it's coming along well now.

The next stage, unless I find anything else I want to correct first, is to apply a "halfpaste" - a translucent grey middletone that will bring the value of the entire painting up.  I will probably do that tomorrow as I'm really determined not to rush through this painting!
